A new beginning

Ok, my online grinding didn't go so well. It didn't go well at all actually. But I still love this game pretty much! I didn't get the chance to make anything happen online for the past few months, but I did manage to go deep in two big events that were held in Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake.

My first deep run was when I finished 18th/216 in a 6-max bracelet event during the WPT. That score was worth 550$. A few weeks later, I cashed in their anniversary tournament finishing 111th/1215 for another 300$. It sucks considering that both first prizes were well past the 5-digit mark but i'm grateful for that last one as I surfed through day 2 with a tiny stack for a few hours.

Overall, I think my live tournament play has improved quite a bit during the last few months, although i'm aware I still have a few leaks to fix before I reach the next level.

My objective for this year is simple: get constant results. I want 2013 to be the kickstart of something great! I've played endless hours of cash games and many tournaments, but I want my chart to go up steadily in the long run instead of those insane 10 buy-in swings every now and then.

The big challenge for me will be bankroll management. I know this seems like the most basic rule for being a good poker player, but I'm horrible at it. And the worst part is that I AM fully aware of it.

So... in January, I will start off slowly, as Christmas expenses were quite heavy this year. I'd like to start with MSS at NL500, bit for that I'd need a larger starting point. Unfortunately, I have to stick to NL200 for now, although I hate that limit because of it's larger variance. I only wish to make a few hundreds weekly to begin with and eventually turn that into a few thousands weekly. One step at a time...

Objectives in january:
Play 40 hours of cash games (I know it's not a lot, but I'm in a rush w/ college) [3/40]
Make a profit of 800$ in cash games [-96/800]
Get to a final table [0/1]
Make the money in a tournament [0/1]
Win a tournament [0/1]
(Updated 01/25/13)
